Day 10: How do you feel about your scars?

Most of my scars from cutting tend to fade over a couple years until you can’t even see them. The only real scars from cutting I currently have is a faded “fat ugly whore” on my left thigh which doesn’t really look like anything other than random swirly scratches unless you know what you’re looking for. The “J” on my right hip is still pretty visible, but that’s ok, because the marks humans leave are too often scars.

The scars that don’t seem to be going away are the cigarette burns. The only one that kind-of bothers me is the one on my right arm. The other ones are just dark circles, they don’t look like much, nobody really notices, and if they do they don’t think anything of it. I really did a number on my arm though. It’s a raised bump with discolored abnormally smooth skin. It’s been two years. I don’t think it’s going anywhere.

How do I feel about my scars? To be quite honest, I’m proud of them.

I suppose work, although I don’t find it that strange.

I just went into the bathroom with a box cutter that was at work, did what I needed to do, came out, and continued working.

I’ve also put cigarettes out on myself right in front of friends. Just stealthily enough that they don’t notice.
